For over 20 years the product designer Keith Riggs from San Francisco California, has created furniture and home products here in Bern. Whether through interpreting tessellation patterns of asymmetry and folding through traditional craftsmanship techniques or for production furniture with CNC Manufacturing but also 3D printing and laser cutting of prototypes the works explore the range of technology and human referencing. Keith Riggs studied Industrial Design at California College of Art in the heart of San Francisco where Human Centered Design was already integrated in curriculum by professional IDEO design leads teaching at CCA. In January 2017 he founded Work@Design Thinking, facilitating workshops and providing coaching and prototyping services for business and social projects working from the Impact Hub Bern.
The VanDesk was developed for lifestyle shop Vinval.ch in Valbella as a secretary desk for digital nomads on retreat.
